A new game based on the popular series “Doctor Who,” titled “Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality,” will be available for gaming consoles and personal computers in 2021.

The game treatment of a new “Doctor Who” project is expected to wind up soon, and the release date is expected to be around March-April 2021.

The game will be in continuation of the VR (Virtual Reality) based 2019 game “Doctor Who: The Edge of Time.” Maze Theory, who had developed the VR based game, will also helm the creation of “Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality.” Apart from PC, the game will be available on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.

Jessica Jones’s villain David Tennant is expected to reprise his role as the 10th Doctor in the game, and alongside him, Wired actress Jodie Whittaker will also reappear as the 13th Doctor. The actors will personify and voice the characters. The villains that have been confirmed to be a part of the main story of the game are “Cybermen,” “Daleks,” and “Weeping Angels”; however, more unrevealed villains are expected in the game.

The trailer for the game has been revealed and is available on YouTube. The trailer unveiled some glimpses of the worlds that the players will explore, and the footages shown in the trailer do look splendid. We also see some classic “Doctor Who” villains before David Tennant’s character makes an appearance and gives some ideas about his role in the game.

Though the game will not be VR based experience, it was developed keeping the latest and the next generation gaming consoles in mind. What you need to remind yourself is that the game will be a continuation of the story relayed in the game “Doctor Who: The Edge of Time,” so make sure you are well caught with that. However, you would still enjoy the game even if you are new to the world of Doctor Who as you would see your avatar up against the wall as he would try and save the reality against some time-bending glitches.

If you play the game, you will come across so many challenges, mysteries, and exploration that you will fall in love with “Doctor Who.”

Another “Doctor Who” game with the title-“The Lonely Assassins” will also be available on all smartphones in 2021. The game will be based on a fan-favorite episode, “Blink.”

The game is developed by FMV, and it will let gamers explore a secret surrounding the villain “Weeping Angels.”

On a side note, another science-fiction game titled Star Wars Squadrons will reportedly not give any post-launch news. The developer of the game has made a recent announcement regarding that.

Originally, Doctor Who relayed the story of a time lord named “Doctor” who is an alien but looks like a human. The character first appeared in the television programme “Doctor Who,” which was developed and is run by British Broadcasting Service since 1963.

The show created a pivotal space for itself in the British pop culture, and with the advent of the internet, the show has amassed a cult following which still hypes everything related to “Doctor Who” on various platforms of the internet.
