The iPhone and its home screen have seen a lot of redesigns since its birth. But the iOS 14 went bold and changed the icon-only grid interface. The ability of iOS 14 to add widgets to the home screen has been in talks from before the update was even released. Additionally, these widgets are available in three different sizes with the flexibility to add them anywhere on your home screen. Let’s see how these dynamic and useful widgets look and work on your iPhone screen.

How to Add Widgets
Follow the steps below to add widgets to your iPhone screen:
Step 1: Press and hold an empty area on the home screen of your iPhone until all your apps start shaking.
Step 2: You will notice the “+” sign in the upper-left corner of the screen. Tap on it to find a menu of existing widgets that are pre-installed on your phone.
Step 3: Tap on the widget you wish to add to your home screen. Scroll right to the widget to see all the available sizes.
Step 4: After choosing the size, tap on “Add Widget” at the bottom of the screen.
Step 5: This action will add the desired widget to your home screen. Once added, you can move the widget around your home screen or another page of apps.
How to Create a Widget Stack
With iOS 14 you can also create a “widget stack” on your home screen. This will give your home screen a more organized look. Follow the steps below to create a widget stack:
Step 1: First add at least two widgets to your home screen using the above method. You can stack a total of ten widgets together.
Step 2: First of all, make sure that all your widgets are set at the same size and shape to stack together. Now, long-press on the widget and place it on top of another widget.
Step 3: This will stack the widgets together, and you can swipe up and down on them to see them together.
How to Create a Smart Stack
Follow the steps below to create a smart stack:
Step 1: Press and hold any area of your home screen until the “+” icon appears in the upper right corner. Tap on it to view the options.
Step 2: Find and tap on the widget labeled “Smart Stack”.
Step 3: Choose the desired size, then tap on “Add Widget”.
Step 4: This will add the smart stack to your home screen. Now, long-press on the stack anywhere and tap “Edit Stack” to re-order or remove apps you do not want.
How to Remove Widgets
To remove the widgets, all you have to do is, press and hold the widget or stack to enter the jiggle mode, and then tap on “Remove Widget.” And it’s removed!
