You must be aware of the classic Moto Razr which took over the market of flip phones previously over a decade ago. It is coming back with a renovated design. The all-new Moto Razr has 5G support and various other modifications over its predecessor. However, it comes with a hefty price tag of $1399. Even though the new Moto Razr is an affordable choice compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, is it a better buy? Especially when so many other competitors are launching their high-end smartphones. Sad to say but it might not be able to meet up the expectations of the users.

The Moto Razr 5G offers a decent battery life and an impressive external display. But its design does have some usability flaws. Performance-wise the all-new Moto Razr doesn’t offer that good results, and even the camera which it holds is not very versatile. Users might also face some connectivity issues alongside thermal throttling. All in all, the new Moto Razr 5G is an average performing handset, with a hefty price tag.

Moto Razr 5G: Design & Display

The new Moto Razr has an iconic design just like the one which was seen two decades ago on the original Motorola Razr. However, its design has some flaws too. The unfolding of the display is not that easy because the device’s thin upper lid is hard enough to be grasped. Even the display of the device is also not fixed onto its place, and the device in its foldable state is very slippery as well.

Even though the screen size of the new Moto Razr measures over 6.2 inches, the overall display of the device is not up to today’s standards. However, the display has an OLED panel which offers excellent colors and contrast. The screen though lacks a high-refresh-rate.

Moto Razr 5G: External Display, Software, and more

The 2.7 inches external Quick View display on the Moto Razr 5G can be used for reading the notifications, messages, emails or even for watching YouTube videos or playing an optimized version of the games like Astro Odyssey.

The Moto Razr 5G offers a fast and very precise fingerprint scanner alongside facial unlock. It performs well in most of the cases. The device has 8GB of RAM, with a faster Snapdragon 765G processor for completing different tasks like light multitasking, web browsing, and switching between various heavy applications.

Moto Razr 5G: Battery & Connectivity

The new Moto Razr 5G comes with a 2800mAh of battery capacity. Even though the battery capacity looks pretty small, it can still last up to a day even after using the device for a full day. The device gets completely charged in around 1 hour and 42 minutes—all hail to the 18W Turbo Power brick which comes with the device.

The phone, by the name itself, tells about its 5G connectivity. The device’s 5G connectivity makes it future-proof. Even though the connectivity options work well, yet the users may sometimes face Wi-Fi connectivity issues on their device.

Moto Razr 5G: Camera

It would have been an eye-catching experience to see an ultra-wide or the telephoto camera on the device, but still, its 48MP main camera offers laser autofocusing system and OIS which is good enough to shoot stunning photos. The device also offers a front camera of 20MP, which is helpful for shooting great selfies.

The Moto Razr 5G produces impressive images with average dynamics, however with decent detailing. But the colors seem to be too unrealistic and vivid. However, the low-light performance of the camera produces stunning images, with better dynamics and more details—all hail to the Night Vision camera mode of the Moto Razr 5G.

Final Verdict

The Moto Razr 5G comes with a compact design, decent battery life, average system and camera performances. Even though the device is good, it doesn’t fit in the $1399 budget device, and users might find it to be an expensive, and not that worthy deal.
