The Amazon Echo device is coming with a set of new features as announced by Amazon at a virtual media event. There can be a lot of changes, such as a redesigned line of Echo smart speakers and software enhancements that will make Alexa smarter and more secure. Amazon Echo is also going to introduce a rotating Echo Show, a flying camera drone, and some new Echo devices for kids.

Here are the six best new Amazon Echo features and how you will use them after they become available.

Echo Guard Plus can make your home more secure

Amazon’s Echo Guard was mainly released as a free home security feature to alert you to glass breaking and smoke alarm noises. But now, Amazon has come up with even more security features. You can upgrade your Echo Guard to Echo Guard Plus for USD 5 per month. Also, the Echo will listen for additional sounds such as the opening of doors, barking of dogs, and many more. One of the essential features of Alexa is that it can connect you to a 24/7 Emergency Helpline, which can be fire, police, and even medical assistance. When Echo Guard Plus is available for you, it can be accessed by opening the Alexa app on your phone and selecting More>Settings>Guard.

Alexa is getting smarter about your routines

You must have used wake words to activate your smart speaker routines such as “Alexa,” “Computer,” or “Amazon.” But now, the new feature will enable you to create routines that are activated by sounds like snoring, a baby crying, or a dog barking. For example, when the device picks up the sound of snoring, it will turn off the TV if you have already created a routine for that. You can also set up a routine that can turn your lights on when your dog starts to bark. You can access the new routine feature by tapping More>Routines in the Alexa app.

Group calling comes to Echo

This new group-calling feature of Alexa will enable you to call up to eight friends or family members at the same time. It will work with audio calls on Echo speakers and video calls on Echo Shows. For example, if you want to call all family members at the same time, you can say “Alexa, call my family.” You can create and name groups in the Alexa app.

Share music with friends

This is another excellent upcoming feature of Alexa. It will enable you to share the same song with one of your friends, which you are listening to on your Echo speakers. You just have to say, “Alexa, share this song with David.” After you share the song, your friend or relative will be able to listen to it on their Echo device or the Alexa app.

A real Netflix app for Echo Show

If you have got a subscribed Netflix account, you are not limited to watch Amazon Prime movies on your Echo Show. In this upcoming feature of Alexa, you will be able to watch Netflix videos on your Echo Show also. To access this feature, you need to say “Alexa, search horror movies on Netflix.”

A new way to support loved ones

The Care Hub is another excellent upcoming feature of Alexa. It is designed to help you stay in touch with your loved ones from a distance. The two households need to create a connection between two Alexa accounts to get started. If your loved ones need help, they just have to say, “Alexa, call for help” to get in touch with you.

After discussing six of Amazon’s best new features for your Echo, we have concluded that the Amazon Echo device is coming soon with various outstanding features that will not only include the redesigning of Echo speakers, but also software enhancements.
